This grant is intended to support events and activities in the Township.
The application period for 2026 grants begins on September 1, 2025, and ends on October 31, 2025
The allocated amounts will be discussed with the municipal council during the budget meetings.
Grant Amount
The maximum grant is $3,000, non-refundable.The amount of the municipal grant may not exceed 25% of the total budget for the event.
An applicant may receive an additional in-kind contribution of up to $500.
Eligibility
Only a community group is eligible for funding.
A community group may submit only one grant application per year.
The proposed event must take place within the territory of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, be open to the public, inclusive of all, and align with the mission, vision and corporate values of the municipality.
Only the following categories of events are eligible for funding
Arts, culture and heritage
Community and special events
Tourism and economic development
Application Assessment
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated according to the following criteria:
30% Organizational capacity of the recipient (previous experience, organizational structure, logistics plan, number of volunteers)
30%: Quality of the event (number of people expected to attend, community partnerships, visibility of the Township)
30%: Recipient's financial capacity (realistic budget, amount requested does not exceed the operational threshold of 25%, diversified funding sources)

All community groups applying to the Township for funding for events taking place in the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet must complete the attached form.
Requests must be submitted by 4 p.m. on October 31 to be considered.
