Survey for the Terragraph Solution in Alfred
The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet is seeking your input on the IGS Hawkesbury's Small Cell project in Alfred.
The goal of this consultation is to show the percentage of people in favor and against the proposed project at the next Council meeting on September 6th, 2022.
To give your opinion please contact Emélie Viau by email eviau@alfred-plantagenet.com or by phone at 613-673-4797 ext 243.

What is it?
As an introduction, the "Small Cell" project consists of the installation of 10.7 meter high posts or the replacement of 6.1 meter telephone posts with 10.7 meter high posts in order to provide the targeted neighborhoods with much faster Internet service. This proposed antenna structure would provide neighborhoods with Internet speeds of 200/200 MBps.
Is it safe?
IGS Hawkesbury proposes to install wireless antenna systems that fall well below the safety limits set out by Safety Code 6, which was created by Health Canada.
At the request of Health Canada, the Royal Society of Canada had assembled an expert panel to conduct a review of the Safety Code 6, which concerns the potential risk of radiofrequency fields from wireless telecommunication devices.
How will it impact the environment?
Protecting and preserving our environment is extremely important to us as we comply with the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012.
